Independent Living

Vernon Terrace offers a wide variety of apartments to accommodate a single resident or couples to live independently in a one bedroom, two bedrooms or two bedrooms plus den.  Units include balconies or patios, some have private laundry. All of our apartments are obtained on a month to month lease term.  At Vernon Terrace of Edina, we understand the complexities of a senior’s life and the changes that can be brought upon by health or other unanticipated events.  We strive to encourage all of our residents to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible.  Our secured building with 24-hour front desk personnel, brings peace of mind to residents and their families.

The Independent and Catered Living apartments are one in the same.  The building boasts 125 units available for either Independent or Catered Living.  As life changes, you do not need to move, you just make a call and home care will meet with you to set up an individualized plan of care right in the apartment home you occupy.  Each apartment is equipped with an Emergency Pull Cord in the main bathroom of the unit.  The pull cord alerts the front desk staff that a resident is in need of help.  

Meals are served the the Biltmore diningroom.  Continental breakfast, menued lunch and evening meals are available 7 days per week.

Our van is used on Monday and Wednesday mornings to take residents to dental or medical appointments.  Other days of the week our van is on the move to Southdale, Southtown, 50th and France, and many other locations for shopping needs.

Social activities include speakers, outings to plays and musicals, restaurants and tours.  Relax in the fireside room with a complimentary cup of coffee or tea.  Visit our library to curl up with a book or try your hand at the always in progress 1,000 piece puzzle.
